Hello, I'm Leon, Head of Product Engineering at JAPAN AI. I wrote a more detailed self-introduction in a recent Advent Calendar article if you're interested.

This article introduces JAPAN AI STUDIO (hereafter, STUDIO), which we recently released in beta, explaining its design philosophy and purpose. (Some features mentioned are planned for implementation and will be rolled out with the official release)

Three key points:

• We solve the root causes that make AI implementations stall at PoC stage (fragmented data, permissions, and outputs) to create a sustainable operational system
• We enable reproducible AI utilization across teams and organizations, not just individual optimization
• We allow continuous improvement of business applications while balancing speed with governance (permissions and auditing)

Background

STUDIO embodies our vision of an "AI Native Enterprise OS" for B2B domains.

By "OS," we don't mean replacing existing core systems. We mean a platform where companies can build, operate, and continuously improve business applications and workflows centered on AI Agents.

More specifically, STUDIO is an AI-Native collaborative business system platform for enterprises.

The key concept is "AI Native." What does that mean? To explain, let's first look at traditional business systems.

Enterprise business systems (HR, Sales, Accounting, Marketing, etc.) typically rest on three pillars:

• Data: Business systems are built on data. Both massive structured data (databases, data warehouses) and unstructured data (specifications, manuals, contracts, reports) are critical corporate assets.
• Business Logic: Complex logic that transforms these data assets into meaningful business value. Data input/output, processing, analysis, and resulting actions form the core of operations.
• UI: While data and processing are the backbone, humans operate the system. UI is essential for that interaction.

Of course, enterprise systems include many other elements—permission management, auditing, monitoring and alerts, integration with other systems. But these three remain the core.

So what is "AI Native"? Our answer: a system where all three pillars are designed and integrated with AI (specifically, AI Agents) as first-class citizens. STUDIO is designed based on this concept.
